Details
This was clearly a memorable night for Kim Mitchell, as he has stated numerous times that Max Webster played this historic theatre. And it almost didn’t happen, as they were slated to open for The Dictators at a small Seattle club on this night (and were advertised as recently as the day of the show), but were instead thrown onto this gig backing the Climax Blues Band at the eleventh hour because they were already in town.

I had gone down to Seattle to spend a week down there. I already had bought tickets for the Climax Blues Band show because I’m a big fan of theirs. There was no mention of an opening act. I get there and who steps on stage? Max Webster. I was like, what? This is great. So that was a great surprise.
