Details

This is Max Webster's first theatre gig, supporting Rush. Even before they play a note, audience members are shouting out song titles.

They elect to stick to the rockers for an opening set, and most of the weirder material is left in the bars (they had over 30 originals by this point). Having played nearly 500 gigs together by this point, needless to say their performance is spotless.

Between songs Mike Tilka refers to their lyricist as "a good friend of ours, Paul Woods," suggesting that the Pye Dubois moniker hasn't yet been adopted.

A review of the show reveals that Max's debut album had already been recorded by this point (which was mostly true, with the article coming out in July and all the songs apart from Only Your Nose Nose having being recorded in May). It wouldn't be released for nearly a year.
