A shockingly good Max Webster opened the Bachman-Turner Overdrive show at the Victory Friday night. This band has been playing bars around town for some time, but little did I realize they were into material that isn't really acceptable in most clubs. By the management, anyway. Most of it is original, and to put it into some kind of category, if Pink Floyd, say, is heading in a northerly direction, Max Webster might gravitate toward the northwest. A fine band, into intricate, moving music. A band I'd like to see again, and often.
